Living in the "Cars" Movie : Zion National Park

I really underestimate this one at the beginning. I mean, compared to the great Grand Canyon, I thought Zion is just "another famous national park". But I was wrong! Zion was so beautiful and dreamy. Not exaggerating, it was like entering another world.

Zion kami tempuh dari Page sekitar 3 jam. Kami sempat berhenti di Kanab untuk makan siang dan mampir di visitor center sebelum lanjut perjalanan. Rada nyesel gak berhenti lamaan di Kanab. It was a beautiful city, I would say, tourist city. Karena low season jadinya sepi banget. Pengen mampir ngopi disana akhirnya batal karena bocil mengamuk karena ngantuk. Well, that is the art of traveling with baby hahaha.

Kami datang saat winter. Dari pintu masuk kami disambut dengan tebing-tebing tinggi dengan salju tipis yang menutupi puncaknya. To be honest, I prefer the view without snow, way more magical. Lucky us, setelah melewati pintu masuk park, nggak ada lagi salju yang keliatan di sini. Hanya tebing tinggi yang mengitari kami. Tentu kami berhenti di beberapa spot untuk berfoto, took some videos, and just enjoying the view. We spotted some mountain goats strolling around the forest. It was really enjoyable seeing them freely in nature.

Kami menginap semalam di Springdale, kota kecil persis di sebelah Zion National Park. We were thinking to stay in the lodge inside Zion, but it was too pricey. Even in low season, it still costs us around $300 per night, so we chose one hotel in Springdale. It was the best decision tho. Springdale was wonderful! Kota kecil dengan pemandangan superb! Di Springdale juga banyak restoran, cafe, bahkan supermarket yang super lengkap. Jangan lupa mampir ke Canyon Coffee yang ada di deket pintu masuk Zion. Kopinya enak dan dibikin dengan niat gitu. Dua cup latte dan croissant dihargai $18. Come here for the view, also a latte or two.

Keesokan harinya kami kembali masuk ke Zion, not for hiking obviously, but to do the scenic drive. Scenic drive di Zion nggak loop gitu ya modelnya, jadi harus back and forth kalo udah sampe di ujung. Dan karena saking ramenya Zion, in high season, pengunjung gak bisa bawa mobil pribadi to do the scenic drive. Harus pakai shuttle dengan rute dan stops yang udah ditentukan. Lagi-lagi, lucky us kesini waktu low season, jadi bisa bawa mobil pribadi. Parking spots always become a problem in Zion. Make sense sih ya, tempatnya narrow dan harus back and forth.
